Ha ha. Way to go Indy!

At first I was neutral in the MAN/TEINCHI war. It was just one sides word against the other, but after reading all the pure vitrol coming from Whollaborg I have to say Indy is at least a more graceful loser. Let this be an open declaration that Jotunheim will attack the kingdom of man on sight. We are now at war.

--Although honesty compels me to point out that I've hardly been vitriol-free myself. Still, I believe I have cause, and all of my vitriol has been in reaction to Whollaborg's actions towards me, so there is a difference I suppose.

Not that I'm complaining, mind! I only wish I could have taken him out myself. Since I can't...welcome aboard sir! May I hang up your jacket for you? ; )

Your last message states your reasons clearly as you say, "I cannot stop your army...", "anything and everything I can do to reduce your gains from your victory will be done. Anything at all."

So you are exactly stating you are killing your population because you are losing. Would have expected you to show your army in attempt of defence at least, but everyone fled to the capital to pillage it even before anything was decided on the field even. A sad loser.

I confess that i got a bit too agitated by the lies directed to me in person (etc.).

I responded these in person, everything else i have tried to roleplay. And perhaps eventually i can start posting as Z instead of Whollaborg in this gameforum too.

I apologise my too harsh language as it makes these forums less pleasant for us to dwell on the issues in the game. I try to restrain my language a bit even if i get assaulted as verbally again in this game even.

Hope we can cool down a bit with the Indypendant as well, so we would not have to wait him getting out of the game?

Chill guys. I know it's really frustrating for both of you, but you have to remember that things almost always look completely different from the other perspective. Also, if another player beats you by trickery - well, a real pretender god might do that. The convention on these forums is for great honesty, but there is no rule on that. (Actually it might be wise to start stating such conventions at the start of games so that there are fewer misunderstandings.) If you do use trickery though, you have to remember that people will get upset, and may do weasely things themselves.

Similarly pillaging your own lands can be seen as unsportsmanlike. I probably agree, but there's nothing as vicious as a god scorned after all. Although I wouldn't encourage it it's not completely unreasonable.

Assuming all of both your claims are correct, it just looks as though you're both playing weasel gods. Fair enough.

I would say that to my mind this would all be less bad if you tried to keep in character. Insulting the enemy god is fine after all (you'd expect it in fact). Being insulted directly is very hurtful, and it is extremely difficult to remain calm when insulted. Being as people virtually never agree on the truth of the matter in matters such as these, people will always honestly feel that the other one is the liar.

By the way, this is in regards to Man's lies about Jotunheim not delcaring war. This was many many posts ago before we even had a border with man.

It has been a sad month.

Even if we defended our capitol succesfully, we faced a terrible loss as our mountain fortification in the former Tien Chi lands fell.

As Another of man's castles fell, there is not many left. This time it was a castle man intented and tried to defend. Dozens after dozens were the daughters of Avalon who fell this sad day. The high command of man had failed to bring forth a strom to ground the devastating flying hordes of the Mictlan. Failing in this failed the day.
Thus former lands of Tien Chi have been now completely lost to the bloody hordes. Aid from the Bandar Log is too late. We can see no much hope in their endeavour to help the world. Marakattas in the thrones of Joutunheim, R'lyeh and Agartha are idiotically still supporting the Mictlan which now has grown too strong for even it's numerous slaves to rebel against.

Agartha, the breakers of the oath of non agression pact sadden us for telling tales that they didn't have an alternative. The alternative was a dumb nation of giants that could have been toppled easily. Another and the only honorable alternative would have been disbanding the NAP with us before attacking as the honourable Bandar Log did with the Mictlan (and us, sic!). We hear rumours that Mictlan had learned from Agarthas mishonor and that they have attacked against the Bandar Log before the three months agreed in their non-agression pact had finished.

We give Man the benefit of the doubt, and assume Man is giddy from the devastating victory they inflicted on Mictlan at their capitol, and in their drunken stupor following their celebrations, they claim that Mictlan violated our NAP with Bandar.

This is completely false. Bandar first reduced our 6-month NAP to a 3-month NAP, and then Bandar cancelled the 3-month NAP. Mictlan had no NAP with Bandar this month, and we fully expected to see Monkeys flying in all directions across our borders. As a defensive measure, Mictlan dispatched several advanced reconnaissance patrols into Bandar territory. Those patrols encountered a couple fierce forwardly-positioned Bandar army groups right on the Mictlan border, so our suspicions appear not to be unwarranted.

Of course, it's possible Man is intentionally spreading lies about Mictlan ... but for now we will ignore the drunken Zhukov, and hope he sobers up by next month.
