My first computer was an Atari 800 with the optional tape drive and Basic cartridge. My computer programmer father was the only one who wrote programs for it. An attempt to get me interested in programming I think, all for naught.
Us children played with the Atari 2600 he also bought us. Anybody remember having to use rubber bands to keep the switches from resetting when the springs wore out?

It came with one cartridge, Battle I think was the name, and I was a goner.
My next real computer was a 386 with 4 megs of memory! The was for paper writing in college and ran DOS and Windows 3.0, the first program run on it was Wing Commander. Remember tweaking your config.sys and autoexec.bat to get enough free high memory?
