Default Changing Defualtcolonytypes.txt

Will changing the Defualtcolonytypes.txt file effect the AI any?

I don't like the options and would just assume be able to have my own defaults, but I don't know if the AI uses this file for any reason.

El yucko!

The only reason I want to remove ALL of them, and replace it with simply 'Colony', is because it is such a pain to change the colony type in-game.

Oh well.. I can just edit them once the game is up and running, right?

BTW- does this also apply to default ship design types .txt?

You could simply ignore the colony type label. If it has any effect beyond what the AI builds, it's so small that I haven't noticed it.

The AI won't use any of the ones you add, and there may be a "Can't find colonytype XYZ" error if you remove some.

Other than that, it will be fine.

The Ai does not use any of the ones you add but do not remove any. IF you have the gold, look in the eyecandy mod and you will find a colony file with extra colony types added.
