You know, with all the 'alien' races being thrown about here, why not make something along those lines? You could go down the Buck Rogers route, complete with zap guns and Hot Green Alien Women™ who, like the succubus, could kidnap enemy commanders . You could also go 'classic sci-fi' and have Martians in their war tripods zapping everyone in their way. Or you could take inspiration from relatively serious sci-fi, and fit in Cylons or Star Wars aliens.

Daleks might be a bit much though, except as Pretender Gods
