Quick question about mindhunt
I thought I remembered feebleminding a mind hunter with an astral mage that I
teleported to the target province on the turn the mind hunt was cast. I just
tried to reproduce it, but could not. I am starting to think that I do not
remember correctly.
Does anyone know for sure whether a teleporting commander has a chance to
intercept a mind hunt? I.e. when does the magical _movement_ occur? If one
reads the manual literally, the movement could occur before the mind hunt, if
the teleporter's ritual happens first.

Re: Quick question about mindhunt
You do know that mind hunting doesn't /always/ get pwned by an astral mage in the province, right? Just like 80% of the time.

Re: Quick question about mindhunt
I have read that probability depends on astral level of the caster in the province, but S3 to teleport should be enough.

Re: Quick question about mindhunt
It depends on when the teleport ritual occurs and when the mind hunt ritual occurs... then there's a chance the astral mage can intercept.

Re: Quick question about mindhunt
It's hard to predict in what order spells will be cast. If your Teleport goes off before the Mind Hunt, your astral mage may feeblemind the caster. If it goes off after, you're not there and so it won't feeblemind him.

Re: Quick question about mindhunt
I think it's unit ID that determines the order of casting. So I guess taking a unit that appears at the top of your placement screen may have a better chance to intercept the mind hunter. Both are rituals so appear in the same turn processing phase, I think.

Re: Quick question about mindhunt
At least before the order ritual is cast was semi-random: Everyone is in order by the unit ID, and the randomness is introduced by randomly starting rituals et al either from the lowest ID (and going up in order) or highest ID (and going down in order). Effectively, random between two casters, but you can game the system if it really matters.

Re: Quick question about mindhunt
the manual says rituals are cast in a random order each turn.
