Agree with you, Meglobob.

I miss you, Gandalf Parker.

In fact, you're the one who brought me into Dominion.
I was wandering for informations about the game (Dom2), and I found this forum, and I find your posts ... and you're amazing work.
So, I dive into it, and never come to the surface again.
Since Dom3 came out, I barely only play at it.

Even if I can't apreciate everything that you (and others, as Edi said) have done because I don't play MP, I really respect your time invest & your care of this community.

Shame on everyone who are not enough cleaver or respectfull for all the work done here.

It reminds me the recent story with Edi, and its reaction.
Shame on people who don't know how to keep theirs mouths shut.
I must admit that I have been shocked by this story. I perfectly understand Edi. Maybe it's because I'm not so young now (40 ) and I have very much trouble to tolerate those who are born with Internet and find it normal that everything is free, must be free (beware, pirates!), and only know about demand, never asking, always pressure people to have what they want fast, now and bigger than before, and of course, for no charge at all, not even a thanks.
I know the story about Internet, and about free software. This is not want you seem to think. This is not dedicate to you only.
For you, I wish you that life remember that you are not the world's center, and if you want something, you must do it yourselves or gently ask for it.

Well, enough rant.

I wish everyone here a very good day, and I respectly thanks everyone here who make my game's time fun, cool, and sometime, because of your hard work, even better.

Thanks all.

Gandalf was more than helpful with helping me get a map set up for the Kingmaker game. He can off dozens of maps for me.

Quite honestly, Edi, Gandalf, Llamabeast, do tremendous work to keep the dominions community operational, and there are many other strong contributors as well.

I am sure it tries the patience to get an email that is not polite, but remember that you get teens the world over playing games(and rude adults too). Most folks are appreciative, so do not let the few who are not get you down.

My first MP game was hosted by Gandalf - the first of quite a few. For which he has my gratitude.

Gandalf has a reputation for being both helpful and approachable and has hosted innumerable games (and helped others set up to be hosts themselves). It just staggers me that someone would slag him off for a problem that popped up whilst he was hosting yet another game.

Gandalf, tough break dude. Sending someone a nasty email while their server's crashed just strikes me as similar to kicking them while they're down, i.e. not on.

I like Gandalf so much I named my first son "Parker". My second son, "Llamabeast" (ok... that one is just a nickname).

I love the thought of some poor kid being called "llama" as a nickname for, as far as he's concerned, the most inexplicable of reasons!

Gandalf's one of the most dedicated, selfless, considerate, and friendly people that I've met on the internet, let alone the Dominions boards.

While he and I don't seem to see eye to eye on our military philosophy, I regret that we're not close friends-he's one of the few people I've met that has an imagination as big and crazy as mine. I have every respect for him in the world, and he's really gone above and beyond in promoting Dominions 3 and just being all-around helpful.

So in closing, be nice to Gandalf, because I've got his back, and I have no compunction whatsoever about kicking someone when they're down, or for that matter, pushing them down in the first place.

Thanks to all the selfless contributors that have made Dominions MP a blast. From my POV that includes Gandalf, LLamabeast, Pasha, and Edi among others as well as all the vets who have quickly and patiently provided advice and answers to my noob questions over the past ~ year like Micah, Wraithlord, Endo, IH, Xietor, etc.

Makes Dom 3 MP a pretty cool experience and hats off to you all. I'd happily buy you a beer if you ever land in SF.

Cheers.
