Do you have the wrong God listed ?

Did you forget to add the correct mage/commander ?

It's important to know the #god must exist within the starting capital province of its nation, thus make sure the #specstart matches the #setland using #god.

The number 21 can be changed to any nation number wanting to use this pretender. Nothing balanced about this pretender and its scales, but it will provide a very strong AI opponent.

These are for direct play games and hotseat games.

The #god only works on the nations capital province. The only way to guarantee the god command will work is by specifying the starting capital province using #specstart.

Perhaps a future fix will allow #god to be placed anywhere, thus allowing its death to generate an instant war between nations.

Ahhh wait I see.
You are using a #setland and a #specstart?
Yes they would have to be together then. But if you leave those off then the #god command will assign it to the nation whether it appears. Altho to play your god myself I did have to turn off cheat detection. Most of mine are within player limits so I forgot about that part.

Try using your god just by itself added to a map file. It works. At least for me in Windows and Linux it does.

Added note:
The scale commands which also specify a nation do not need a #land, #setland, or #god command. They are also free floating. You can set scales for any nation. Seems like we could come up with a nice map-append list of scales which would insure that AIs do not damage themselves. Cold and Heat where needed, Order when advisable, Magic for nations which can make best use of it.
