No, mother of serpents has #onebattlespell of a battlefield summon, not a ritual. It isn't a battlefield summon you can find in the spellbook, but it is in the game and I believe it's been indentified in the forums before.
There are plenty of battlefield summons you can try it with and they'll all work fine.
Perhaps the ritual is handled as if it was a cloud-type spell? I think those were created by adding large numbers to the effect.
And yeah, the difference here is between ritual and battle spells. Ritual summon spell is effect number 10001, battlefield summon spell is effect number 1.
