The nation of Ulm was in tatters. Their god, having forsaken her people leaderless, has escaped this world in a vain attempt to save herself. No one can evade one's impending fate, and devastation will be the one to follow her wake.
A temporary leader, chosen from amidst the people, has been elected. The previous leader led with such passivity that even the industrous people of Ulm were struck by sloth, and thus the nation's armies are almost nonexisting, while the bloodthirsty giants of Jotunland rape their lands.
Ulm is lost.
