True, but once turned into a soulless the Transformation spell will work. The Transformation spell is risky, but a pretender can always be called back by priests. Once transformed into another creature the pretender can cast Twiceborn and thus become the desired WightMage.
I wouldn't recommend this scenario unless you feel comfortable winning the game. |
Transformation does not work on inanimates and/or undead.
