length of game...and weapon platforms

I never play a low number of palyers. I always play a full set of AI. My latest game has Lasted 6 months and I just up dated to gold. I role play my game alot so it takes more time. as I don't just try to wipe everyone out quickly. And I want to see how the AI acts after all tech is researched.

I've never finished a single game to date

Usually I reach a point where I control 3/4 of the universe, and it's pretty obvious that I've won. So I just start a new one and hope to get crushed. Lately I've been playing P&N, not having the capacity to colonize really changes the dynamic of the game.

I have finished one game all the way out, This was prior to the Gold Version. I just wanted to see what would happen.. It was disappointing, very blah, I expected more, That is the one aspect of SE4 that I was disappointed in. I expected fireworks, roaring ships of the Line, ooddllees of waving and screaming beings, worshipping me for putting the universe under my foot..... oh well, maybe in the next patch....
