Noob Question About ToHP and Dimmension Rod
Hello. Im looking to get my astral to 9 but i have some questions about the Tome of High Power and Dimmension Rod before i go sticking them on my mages. Firstly It says the dimmension rod has a slight chance of causing a horror mark or send the mage insane. Firstly can insanity be healed by Arco's priesteses? secondly with the slight chance of horror mark is there a chance each turn it is on the mage of horror marking them or is it an immediate effect where by if i dont get it first time i stick it on him i wont get it at all. Another thing is what is the % chance of getting the horror mark and is there anything i can do to lesses the chances of this.
Thank you for your time and any sugestions or wisdom anyone has in this field.

Re: Noob Question About ToHP and Dimmension Rod
Insanity cannot be healed at all, ever. You'll get about +1% insane every month from the Rod, which is not terrible. If you can wield it with a unit that can shape-change into a unit without hands, you can drop the rod by changing shape. Some of the MA Mictlan heroes could change into Couatl form, for example.
The horror marking is not all that severe, and you can script returning. But don't be like me and pool pearls to pull them off your clams and forget to give your Rod holder his 2 pearls back, because he'll get horror attacked and die in a critical month when he should be Mind Hunting the enemy pretender sieging your fort or something.
Tome of High Power also horror marks. Not as often as the Rod, but it seems to leave a nasty mark when it does have an affect. You won't normally need it for an S boost, because you can wield a coin and 2 rings, unless you've got 4 misc slots.

Yeah I'm scared of the Tome now.
Though sometimes you need it to get to RoW, if you have A+S but not E+S.
Also scary is the Robe of the Magi..... Or maybe I just had bad luck.
I love the Dimensional Rod though. Rarely deploy it, because it needs to go to a special someone - but when that someone and I meet, and I give them my Rod, and start driving them insane - it's fireworks, baby.

Whoops, didn't notice.
And apparently I can't edit it. These forums still confuse me.
