Quick Little MP games you can play now

For quick little starter games you can play in one of these right away.

For new players I would recommend either the Blitz or the vsAI games.

If you have a god created for multiplayer (go to Game Tools then Create a Pretender God to make a reusable god file) then this is very simple. Pick out the game you want to play in. Then in the Dom menu select Network, then Connect to Server. Type in the sever name (in this case dom3minions.com), then it will ask the port number for that game. Thats it. After that its alot like solo play.

It will highlight the nations that you have a god created for. Choosing that nation will upload your god.

Most games are one turn a day. You do not need to email anything. Just connecting to the server on that port will put you into the game. Once a day connect, get your turn, make your moves, then hit "end" and the turn is uploaded.

If you would prefer a game as fast as a solo game but with multiple players then you might set up a time and start a thread here about the game to get players. Or use the CHAT feature on the menu here to set up an immeadiate game. Or visit the IRC to find players for a fast game.

Or you can play the vsAI or Chaos games as a single player if you wish.

The games on this server are usually kept 2 open for each era in each game category.

I have a bookmark on the CBM Blitz game page which I visit occasionally, and for some time now I've noticed that the red asterisks don't seem to disappear much.

In the one game I've been involved in, I went AI at one point, and kept an eye on it out of interest. My ex-nation C'tis is still listed without the asterisk (as you would expect) but the other 3 nations have had their asterisks on every time I've looked.

Gandalf, what happens when games are abandoned on the Dom3minions server? Do they just keep processing ad infinitum? If so, then I think its possible that a large number of games are in that state now.

Lately Ive been unavailable (sleeping in hospital chairs mostly) for weeks at a time. I do make sure that there are games open and available for in each game type and each era. But I have been lax in cleaning up dead games
