Alien Race Profile
Other than the brief description in the manual, does anyone know which races can be trusted and which are a gamble? In Civ3 there is a nice graph comparing each civ, it's style and some hints as to whom you might want to ally with and whom is likely to turn on you.
In one game I have going, the Eee Consortium has offered several different treaties and together we are doing well. Haven't met any of the other 5 opponents yet but the research and trade treaties are a boon to both of us (as long as I am staying a bit ahead in tech, colonies and resources).
Are any of the races (included in the Gold original game) two-faced, untrustworthy or over aggressive?
OT: Has anyone done a mod to reflect the "Bugs" found in David Weber's 'The Shiva Option'? So many of the game's concepts align with those found within his 4 book collection I am wondering if anyone has tried to do this.
Please keep in mind that I am still bumping around the game and haven't looked at any of the mods on the CD or here on the internet. Appreciate your assistance.

Re: Alien Race Profile
First of all, the AI is not very good so none of them can be trusted. They all do erratic things like offer you the highest treaty they will enter into one turn, then declare war the next. There are some with 'nice' settings in their AI files that do these things less often, though.
From memory:
'Xenophobe' races:
Amon Krie
Sergetti
'Angry' races:
Cryslonite
Fazrah
Jraenar
Krill
Piundon
Xiati
XiChung
'Neutral' races:
Abbidon
Drushocka
Norak
Praetorian
Sallega
Terran
'Friendly' races:
CueCappa
Eee
Phong
Toltayan
UkraTal
That's the best of my recollection but I could have shuffled some of them a step out of their proper place.

Re: Alien Race Profile
Actually, the EEE might need their own Category:
'What? You're glassing my planets, plaguing my population, destroying stars in my home systems, and blowing up my ships by the score? Congratulations! We're Brotherly toward you, and would like to request a Partnership treaty! Of course, if you don't accept, then we'll just have to gift you all of our mineral planets.'

Heh...
Any of the 'friendly' races can be irrationally nice like that. On the other hand, I've had the Eee declare war on me for breaking a treaty.
