I didn't change a *thing* in SE4 Gold, and it's the one that's really jerky. Mouse movement jerky, delayed menu activation, missed clicks, the whole 9 yards.

I don't suppose SE4 uses any external DLLs that have changed between the two Versions...
Some common registry or other settings?

I'm not sure the reason, but my Gold install suffered performance hits after 1.49 install. Problem solved by reinstall of Gold. Hope that helps.

Alas, the Juprup's Messiah proved to be false. Yet still they watch the starts, waiting for the day that their true Messiah shall descend from the heavens to lead them.

Summary of the empire.
Minimal size, but defendable territory, surrounded by friendlies, Allied with the author of the mod, cheap access to maintenance free ships and all racial techs (!).
