The underdogs is dedicated towards preserving high quality computer games from the late 1970s to the present, but only those games which are truly “hidden gems”
Both SEIV and SEIII are listed on the underdogs.
I’m not sure how much SEIII sells anymore, but perhaps Sharpnel & Malfaldor would consider making SEIII freeware. Same for SEII. It could be a great way to introduce the SE series to more people.
For what its worth,
www.matrixgames.com took the same approach with two computer game classics from Gary Grisby, which is in fact, how I found matrixgames. I am already pre-sold on the upcoming Napoleon at War, and from what I can see, matrix found many new customers by offering these two free classics.
