Why worry? Fix two or three, and as soon as you next enter combat, all of those armor components will heal each other up, completing the repairs for you.

What, you mean DEAD armors heal in combat?!? But they don't outside of combat?!? I would be ROFLMAO but somehow I just can't... too evil... too... Malfadorious!

You know, that would have been my choice for 'early' organic armor. The first Versions would recover after combat. Only at higher tech levels would it heal during combat. I wish there were a way to implement that. I wish there were a way to make a ship only able to repair itself, too.
