Quick question. Is this a single player or multiplayer game. If it is a single player game, then you can safely pull out the very cruel strategies. By which I mean mass armies on the coast, buy up PD since the computers can't take them down, make sure you have mages to cast wind guide and flaming arrows, and hold the coast well while building up forces.

Then drop Thetis blessing and rush. Have temples along the coast so you rush into friendly dominion.
