They are perfectly fine on my development install, and my reference D/L version built solely from the released installers.
Check that
93.wav exists in your sounds folder. If not, then you may have done something wrong when installing. Or if you have Vista/Windows 7 then you may have found another example of their weird and wonderful habits of squirrelling files away in random strange places known only to themselves?. If you have the vista/Windows 7 things on your machine, rather than XP or earlier then you should reinstall the games to a folder away from the \program files\ hierarchy to avoid that behaviour.
