Flying tramplers I found useful for this sometimes.

I had 50 Behemoths and my pretender scripted to cast mass flight in a battle against a large communion army. Alas, my opponent brought Tempest with him. All my Behemoths died in a senseless charge, right into the dying meat shield of double blessed Jaguar Warriors. (BoT was up, and I also cast Rigor Mortis, Grip of Winter, and Quagmire.) I did wind up with Tempest, though.
