As much i support the idea of getting a job/push ones life i was always suspicious towards the army. I would always try to find something else then join there....but its my personal opinion for you its maybe really the right thing to do.

So what are our plans for finding a sub? I reckon we should put the game on hold until we find someone (or set the country to AI maybe?).

I posted a topic (Subs needed for three games!) that covers for all three. If interested you can go ahead and bump it. I should still be able to get in one or two more turns before if we can't find a sub quickly
