Lemme try to give some more details...
TC is currently at war with Man (played by me). Agartha has formally declared war on them and will start attacking in 3 turns. Ulm may or may not be at war with TC, but I think I saw him grab one TC province.
TC had risen to be a mid-sized nation due to a large army of Ancestor Vessels (with Water 9 Bless) and cavalry. But they are very behind on research, and have only 3 forts to recruit nationals from. Man is threatening to take one of these forts already.
Man is using large armies of Wind Guide/Flaming Arrow archers. TC has been burning up Ancestor Vessels and thugged Khans against them. Losses are heavy on both sides, but TC's losses so far are greater than their replacement rate. Man's replacement rate, meanwhile, well exceeds our loss rate.
And yes, Man has pretty good intel on TC
.
----
Diplomatically, TC's history was as follows:
TC bordered Agartha to the west, Man to the north, and Ulm + Gath in the south.
Agartha and Man have a longstanding NAP, and are virtually allies.
TC had a NAP with Agartha and Man.
Ulm and Gath went to war, with Gath mostly crushing Ulm.
TC, secretly with Agartha's urging, then invaded Gath. However, Gath secretly had a defensive treaty with Man, so Man entered the war on Gath's behalf.
TC took most of Gath while Man was still mobilizing. TC then secretly entered into an agreement with Agartha wherein they ceded some Gathian lands to the Agarthans in exchange for what was apparently a NAP-3.
Man found out about the secret deals between Agartha and TC, after diplomatic talks with TC. After Man confronted Agartha, the Agarthans decided to DoW TC to maintain their alliance with Man.
If you have any more specific questions regarding Man's dealings with TC, I can answer them via PM. Because the diplomatic cluster**** that led to the "Great Eastern War" was really rather remarkable.
