No Tricks, Just Pure Treats For The October Gamers Front Specials!
New Month Means Two New Discounted Games!

Cary, NC, 04 October 2011

It’s a new month which means the Shrapnel Games online store, the Gamers Front, has two titles chosen for deep discounts all month long. For October these titles include BRAINPIPE: A Plunge to Unhumanity and The Falklands War: 1982. You’ll scream with delight, not fright, at the prices. Especially when you see how low we’re going with BRAINPIPE!

BRAINPIPE: A Plunge to Unhumanity is the latest title from Digital Eel, masters of the bizarre. A perfect game for the Witching Season, BRAINPIPE: A Plunge to Unhumanity, appears to be a dimensional gateway between worlds yet unexplored…an alien mind control device…or the distant echoes of a future written in a sky of fire. Can you hear the buzzing when you play? Is it just a loose connection to your speakers or perhaps the seductive whispering of those that inhabit Yuggoth?

In BRAINPIPE you must shed your humanity and uplift your consciousness to a higher state. The universe shall reward you for this with a high score (and isn’t that ultimately the answer to everything?). To achieve this you will pilot your third eye through a twisting tunnel of mind altering sights and sounds, collecting glyphs while avoiding the horrors that lurk within your brain.

A single player psychedelic arcade experience BRAINPIPE is a game that is easily learned. No crazy keyboard layouts, no weird macros, everything is controlled with one hand. Hearkening back to the days of the arcade, turn down the lights and let the game wash over you. Lose yourself in the quest for the high score. A perfect game for quick bites or one that you can sit down and gorge yourself on, it’s all about the experience.

The award-winning BRAINPIPE: A Plunge to Unhumanity is available on both Windows and Mac systems (the better to claim more souls) and has very modest system requirements. All month long you can grab the game, available only as a download, for the mind blowing price of only $4.95! That’s right, FOUR DOLLARS AND NINETY FIVE CENTS. At that price you have no more excuses to not succumb to the siren call of madness that is BRAINPIPE: A Plunge to Unhumanity.

Our second title on special this month is ProSIM’s The Falklands War: 1982 for Windows.

The most controversial wargame EVER! They wanted it BANNED in Great Britain! They COMPLAINED about it in Argentina! Meanwhile, Americans shrugged and said, “Falklands what?”

The Falklands War: 1982 was the first highly detailed look at the conflict at the bottom of the world in computer wargaming. Developed by ProSIM and designed by Gary Bezant, a veteran artillery officer in the British Army with an extensive repository of British military lore, it is hoped that as wargamers delve into The Falklands War: 1982 they will walk away with a deeper understanding of the events in the South Atlantic over two decades ago.

With the abundant background information presented throughout the title, coupled with the actual playing of the scenarios, gamers will find the experience more than entertainment; they will be richly rewarded with an educational jaunt through military history better than any book or documentary could provide.

Based on an upgraded and evolved ATF game engine The Falklands War: 1982 covers everything from bitter hand to hand combat (since the Falklands was mostly an infantry battle the system has been overhauled to handle individuals even at a company level), to special operation insertions, to amphibious landings. A dynamic weather system adds some true fog to the “fog of war”, and variable troop skill levels both help reflect the various levels of troops (from conscripts to highly trained and motivated professionals) and provide an amazing range of replayability within a single scenario.

Of course everything you’ve come to expect and love from a ProSIM release is present and accounted for. Real-world topographical maps of the era? Yep. Ultra-detailed modeling of artillery systems? Right-o. Impressive AI? Check. Multiplayer capability? Affirmative. Scenario creation? You bet. As always with ProSIM this is not just a wargame, this is a bona fide simulation.

If you’re a serious wargamer you’ll want this game. If you want a different kind of real-time game, you’ll want this game. If you want to strike a blow against those that seek to censor games, you’ll want this game.

The Falklands War: 1982 is available as either a download or physical product for Windows. It is on sale all October for only $33.95.
