Ironically enough, my god was there only because I staled. Now why haven't I seen your Moloch in action yet? Seems to me he should be raiding all over the place by now.

Now that we dont have score graphs enabled, I would like to hear bits of intel from all the corners of the shadowshore!?

So maybe I just got doubly unlucky that you didn't do the movement that you intended to/I expected. I didn't really design him for raiding but I may be running out of options at this point...

Cool I'm glad that my guys cast Summon Imp against an army of 20 undead troops instead of banishments and smites like I asked them to. Can't really see myself lasting too much longer against Ulm here, I'm down to four provinces and just lost my prophet. On an aside I am really starting to hate this game, takes too much damn thought and effort to go and just get wiped out right away.

The night was mild and starry, you could see the Cockatrice and the Maiden rising in the east, the Hound and Dragon in the west. Bael leered against a stone, warmed by his own heat, pondering the war against the northmen. They had suffered losses against the wretched northmen, yes, and now were trapped behind enemy lines. But Abaddon, prophet of Gath'un remained calm as always and commanded faith and hope in his loyal men. Beal knew Abaddon would not fail them, the power of the true god guiding his steps. And Bael was his apprentice, chosen to stand by the side of the flaming prophet himself. No, they would fight their way back with fire and steel, fresh troops awaiting home in Abysia to crush the northmen, melt their ice, cook them alive in those heavy armour they wore. Gath'un himself had awakened, the prophet had seen it in the fires, no living creature could stand against Gath'un, the essence of fire, the smouldering Moloch of Abysia. Bael smiled as he pondered the northmens demise, saw images of his own glory and ascension. I will become the greatest of the Dragons he promised himself, and lost his thoughts in sweet burning dreams.

A chill in the air woke him. A chill? It's not possible, him and his brothers fire should keep the heat, not to mention the smouldering prophet. Yet there it was, a cold wind sweeping over the camp. A mist thick as pinesmoke. He saw his brothers stir in their sleep, waking with grunts and moans. Abaddon stood alert by the fire, peering into the night. Something was not right, "this is the work of dark magics" he said gloomily "Bael, ready yourself, the enemy is near".

The Abysian infantrymen made a shield wall around the two mages and their virgins. Shields gleaming with the water that steamed off the cold mist, smoke rising from red skin. Slowly they came, lurching out of the woods. Tall and silent in black tainted plates, carrying rusted halberds. Their faces pale and rotting, some missing parts where the blackened skull showed through. But it was the eyes that caught Baels gaze, pale blue eyes that shone like icy stars in the rotting faces, eyes that never blinked, eyes with but one emotion. Hunger. Bael felt the chill reaching out of those eyes and take hold inside him, they are not alive he thought, not alive. But they can yet be killed.

Abaddon screamed a command, and he and bael each seized a virgin girl and cut her throat in one fluid motion. The blood spurted out and took fire, driving the mist away for a moment. From the lowest of hells came the sqeaking imps forth, threw themselves against the ghouls. But the ghouls moved faster than Bael would have thought possible, and cut the imps down in the air, hardly pausing. The Abysians stood bravely, but the dead brought their halberds down with inhuman strength and cleaved shields and armor alike. Bael froze in terror when he saw how the ghouls ripped the flesh off fallen enemies and stuffed it into their drooling mouths. He cast a few more spells, but little did it help other than to drain his last energy. He fell to his knees in despair, and before him the last Abysians fell, cut down and eaten.

A shadow larger than any other stood before him, a ghoul with a flowing red cape and flail instead of halberd. The ghoul baron, the fallen captain of the ancient Ulmish guard, risen anew. Bael knew the stories, but had naught believed them until now. "It's only a bad dream" Bael thought as Ulrich Patrifagus ripped his heart out. Bael slipped into darkness with the fading image of the ghoul baron devouring the steaming heart. It was still beating.

^OK that was awesome and assuaged my disappointment/annoyance/fury about my guys casting the wrong stupid spells. Seriously, I'd feel totally justified if someone wrote an AAR like that everytime after whupping my ***.

Also, I guess I was one smite away from killing your pretender and also on the verge of killing your Ghoul Baron before my guys decided it would be more fun to run away, so I can't be too upset with myself. Been an unfortunate game so far since that first turn.

Red face Re: Dreadful fates II - (Running)

Mercy!?!

Midgard has been overrun by Mictlan and Marignon,

We hereby ask for mercy from either of the attackers and ask humbly if you could spare us one province to serve our lord who would be our mighty benefactory and warden! Even forgiveness would be granted to whoever granted us this wish be it even our attackers.

We just would like to continue our dabblings into small magics with no real danger against anyone!

- Ottar the prophet of surrendering pretender whom fully acknowledges the superiority of Mictlan god and the might of Marignon as well
