dude, i dont think there are any good ones. It would be nice to edit a few in though, like 'economic boom' or 'population bloom' or other such.. as for abandoning, be sure to take advantage of the Last year and get some emergency build out of it for free. also be sure you can evacuate whatever you build.

I've looked through the file, there are no, repeat no, good events. Not a single one. Read the file yourself if you don't believe me.

The "good events" are when the bad events happen to the other races. Since there are more of them than you it will tend to hit them more often. So really with events turned on you hurt the AI (collectively) more than yourself.

You can also select the Lucky trait for yourself to help make things go worse in that respect for your enemy than you.

Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't actually looked at the file. As a result I will be turning off events in future games.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

You can ADD them, though! I've added a "meteor shower" event that increases the value of a planet, and a "planet wide festival" that increase planet happiness. The adjustment abilities in the events files can go either positve or negative. Uh, except the destroy star and destroy planet things. You just have to think up the explanation for the events. I haven't seen the "open warp point" thing work yet, though. It's accepted but seems to just be a dummy right now. I hope it works in the future.
