Hey, Thanks, Lord Felix! I consider this a very useful piece of information. I can find the 19-digit code, if I have to; but I really don't care to re-enter it, if I don't have to. Between typos, other digital clumsiness, and my innate dislike of DRM implementations, I am better off not having to do this. (I understand the practical need for DRM requirements, and the one accompanying this game is more reasonable than many, but they really annoy me, nonetheless.)

Anyways, when I finish my current game (which may take a while -- I am currently up to Sector 41, and having lots of Fun!), I will start a new "sacrificial" game, load the Update, resume my saved game, commit Hari-kari very quickly, and then start a new game for real. Most people would probably consider this strange; but it will tend to make me much happier. Thanks!

Just an FYI for your peace of mind: I did almost exactly this with my current (not so advanced game) and it worked fine. No need to even start a new "sacrificial" game if you don't want to. A current game will load fine for the "suicide" after you patch. Of course, that assumes you are playing a "Perma-Death" game with "Pay It Forward!". Just push all your funds into the PIF balance and start a new game. Don't forget though, even if you push everything into PIF and use it all in the new game, you only get one-half the total. (The Bankers take the other half, per the manual.)
