MBT's Mk 1
It is my hope that the MBT's Thread will be reopened once the patch has been released for continuities sake. Also it sits at #3 all-time on Shrapnel and to be honest I'd really like to see how much higher it can get by the end of 2026 when I retire from both work and with my final Patch Post, this game. It's a worthy motivator especially after " someone" left a comment concerning India's MBT submissions. It was a validation of my One World, One OOB line of thinking.
And personally speaking, I needed that "BOOST" at the time. TANGO YANKEE!
That being said, the news doesn't stop for anyone. So I hope this will be a temporary situation.
I have no problem in of it itself to the modernization and rearming of TAIWAN however, there are political realities that can't be avoided. It is very possible the ref. below might in reality be a political "carrot" for China to continue to negotiate in the U.S. bid to reach a more balanced trade deal.
This is not the first time Taiwan has been caught in the middle between these two for both separate and or mutual advantage in policy between the U.S. and China, nor will it be the last time. And of course there also is this as well from DID immediately below...

That's what happened with the M1A1 ABRAMS around three times already, where they got ATGM's instead. If they do get them they'll be "older" models with a good possibility that they won't have DU armor as happened with IRAQ with their ABRAMS against ISIS. Those tank losses is why Russia was able to step in and sell them the T-90S tanks as posted in the MBT's Thread. And yes they refused our attempts to sell them more ABRAMS.
All we can do now is watch and wait to see what happens...

Re: MBT's Mk 1
A military.com article I read, I want to say last year, year before, said Iraq just doesn't like the Abrams because it's too complicated. They prefer the more simplistic style Russian tanks. Not because of the losses they sustained by abandonment and improper tactical useage. Saudi Arabia sustained the losses they did for improper tactical usage as well. But, neither of those two countries had top of the line Abrams, but even if they did, they still would have sustained the losses they did because of how they were deployed. Best tanks in the world will become flamers and rubble if not used properly. Look at what happened to the Leopard IIs. Need I say more! 😉

Re: MBT's Mk 1
What destroyed them? Air, ATG, other tanks?

Re: MBT's Mk 1
I'm not 100% sure, rumblings of ATMs, but they were not deployed as they should have been, no infantry support, and their weaknesses exploited. Also, apparently those weaknesses are greater than anticipated because the tank experts are really rethinking about the Leopard 2's world rankings. According to the articles out on the net.

Re: MBT's Mk 1
Now that " Homeplate" has been reopened, I'll not post anything here again, to be honest, my heart wasn't in it, as much as it was a matter of necessity at the time. So for me this thread can just... .
