When I Google "Nakaima 51C1" nothing much comes back which for Japanese aircraft is highly unusual. The only thing is a copy of the one you found

so I'm thinking this was something the Japanese evaluated only. They did that alot in the 20's but there is no mention of even that on any source about the SPAD |
