yeah, ive been doing the range/weapons trick for a while. Its just so hard to fully utilize recon/scout vehicles as intended, especially while advancing. delaying/defending its not hard but if you're advancing and you need eyes and don't have UAV...you have to recon by fire.

I wish that a unit flagged as Recon got some kind of concealment bonus. size reduction maybe? Imagine: you disable weapons and move less than 1/4 speed to gain -2 size....or something like that.

Note that you need to also literally look around (click around) what increases your chances on spotting enemy. The less you moved yourself also appears to have some sort of effect. So it is not like you are walking your recon and hidden stuff magically pops out. Take a look around and you may get suprised.
