Default Re: Running Full Screen in WIN10

The free demo game only has 640 and 800 modes available for its evaluation purposes.

Modern windows drivers and/or video cards just won't go as low as 800x600 mode, they assume a minimum of about 1024x768 so trying to run in full-screen mode at that resolution would tend to be unsuccesful.

Therefore you really probably can only run the free demo in a 640 or 800 wide window in windowed mode on a larger desktop, assuming that your monitor has a resolution of 1024x768 or more. Whatever the minimum size windows now supports, post XP anyway.

To take advantage of modern wide screen monitors, you will require the full game and windowed mode using the desktop resolution.

Full screen mode is unsupported as modern windows (post XP?) tends to make a total hash of trying to run the 256 colour full-screen mode's palette (and windows 7 especially, as it particularly uses that palette for the Aero mode effects! - which is why there is the special clunky batch file to kill the Windows explorer for full screen in windows 7). We only leave it in as an option since a very few folks have a windows rig that doesent go titsup attempting to run the game in full screen mode (or have an old air-gapped XP box lying about still).

But I stress again - full screen modes are obsolete and unsupported, so if they dont work for your rig, well tough luck, basically.
