DRG will become famous soon enough
Default Re: APC Development and related topics.

There is no doubt lessons learned from the Rus-Ukr war are being applied to vehicles in development

The interesting part will be jamming drone signals while keeping normal communications channels open

Fallout Re: APC Development and related topics.

In short and at a very basic level the answer is no. Generally, these systems operate at different frequencies along with some other differences. Comms are going to a relay station which would primarily mean a satellite. Jamming is again generally focused to the horizon or just beyond up to 360 degrees or omni-direction all this (Less Comms) will be dependent on the equipment and more importantly the power supply.

In our world all our maps would easily be covered or limited to LOS depending on equipment.

The following will bring a little more clarification if needed and follows some of the training I've had up to the nonoperator status except for one piece of related equipment where I did have some basic operator training, I cannot and will not discuss here or anywhere. .
https://usafa-ece.github.io/ece315-b...ding_23Su.html
(2 years old and relevant PLUS answers some questions the forum has asked in relation to flight ops as well. The principles are the same overall BUT obviously LOS is less of an issue here as is overall range.)
https://rhfv.org/electronic-warfare-ew-operations/
(At the bottom is what I said in the very beginning of the "Drone Rush" in at least one or more of my posts "For every "Counter" there is a "Counter Measure" we've demonstrated this (Don as well.) with the above tactics since WWII and Smart Munitions such as the video Don posted for the "SKY RANGER" I believe it was plus the GEPHART and other similar systems now using similar ammo.)
https://www.tonex.com/electronic-warfare-ew-faqs/
(Everything I've said in my posts.)
https://www.army-technology.com/buye...mming-systems/
(This last talks a little more of the Drone issue. Order the FREE booklet if just for the purpose of seeing how prolific the industry (EW) is.)

Finally, my thoughts on this issue concerning these smaller drones... 1) I feel they are a "niche" item that sure is cool, however if you really take the time to read the above just maybe, you might want to rethink how good are they really?

2) If you put them in than I would say for every Drone there should be a countermeasure added-that's only fair.

3) We were hearing about these Drone attacks from the start almost daily. Where are they now? It's been months since I've seen even a video of them let alone the written word. Because the battlefield has mitigated them pretty much both physically (Cages etc.) or by EW. We had a very early example of this when the Russians not only jammed the Ukrainian cell phones but located where they were transmitting from and knocked out a BUNCH of their artillery and killed most of those gun crews. At least 75% of the Drones used (Might now be SLIGHTLY improved with unsophisticated EW.) store bought if you will.

4) Loitering munitions do hold my interest as do the larger Drones (Though being used primarily to attack infrastructure.) and UAV/ UCAV plus in the near future the RPA or RPV
https://www.forbes.com/sites/sebasti...-land-and-sea/
.

5) Another Countermeasure they should be operation with us this year and everyone else won't be far behind or might already have them.
https://undark.org/2024/11/26/unleas...omous-weapons/

6) Let's not forget all those handheld systems to include the shotgun which the Army and Marines have successfully tested.

7) APS: Isreal for instance has proven that "Iron Fist" can kill Drones out to 1.2Km/360 coverage. As noted less effective was "TROPHY" but they are looking into a modification of the launchers to improve this maybe by this year. Germany has also proven their ADS (We started testing of the supplemented ADS passive armor system for our armor in 2019/2020. Germany will have both for some of their armor but the tanks for now my understanding will have the passive armor addition plus TROPHY.)
https://www.bing.com/videos/rivervie...5097&FORM=VIRE

8) The "slot cost" can't be cheap. We still have a lot of equipment in the "pipeline" that is the "core" of this game. Where are we going to put them?

We can Agree to Disagree but, I had to get this "off my chest"
and to be ABSOULTY CLEAR I'm not against Tech, just because (As I've stated in the past in regard to my privacy.) I don't own a Cell Phone doesn't mean I can't hold my own in discussing such varied topics such as "Ring Lasers" which I wish were fully operational in my day, oh well just shows "You can't have everything just maybe almost everything. "

Regards,
Pat

The first four M2A2 ODS IFVs refurbished at Djuro Djaković facility in Croatia were officially delivered to the Croatian Armed Forces yesterday. It's worth noting that the Croatian Bradley is a baseline ODS variant, equipped an Integrated Sight Unit (ISU) with 1Gen FLIR and ELRF.
Quote:
Compared to the Ukrainian M2A2 ODS-SA, the Croatian M2A2 ODS lacks the Improved Bradley Acquisition Subsystem (IBAS) with a second-generation FLIR and stabilized head mirror, and also lacks the Driver's Vision Enhancer (DVE) mounted in the front of the hull.

Flat green paint, sad for no interesting camo scheme here.

So these replace the Dragoon

Quote:
The M1304 ICVVA1 Stryker is essentially a newer, upgraded version of the Stryker Dragoon, designed to address vulnerabilities identified in the Dragoon variant, particularly related to its ammunition storage configuration, and offering enhanced firepower with a 30mm cannon while maintaining the core Stryker platform; essentially, the ICVVA1 is meant to replace the Dragoon in the US Army inventory.
Are all existing Dragoons being retired ?
