From an SE4 story I intended to write based on my first P&N game.



I begin this chronicle embraceing the unknowing. Who we were and where we came from is lost to the void of space.

We live, we build tiny ships, as the Others do.

Were we once a mighty empire, with planets that spanned the galaxy. What is the reason why we and the Others find ourselves scattered and weak. The answers to these questions concern us not.

Will our planets span the galaxy again, as the Others clearly aspire to. This answer is known -- and that answer is no. I have ordered the constrution of our first space station shipyard. And the plans are laid for for ships with a hearty crew of swashbucklers, eager to prove themselves in the dire task of conquest.

The young and the feeble hunger, hot-tounged and lusty for fresh ships to carve.

We are pirates, the freedom of the void calls to us.

Born in space, borne by the ions, cloaked in a nebula of our own lost identity, the cold void is our delight.

We are what lurks in the dark dreams of the Others.

What they build, is our gracious gift, to be reclaimed when we see fit.
