Unable to get the SEIV Launcher working.

I attempted to run the Quadrant Mod using the launcher but was unsuccesful.

Does it not work with Gold?

The readme recommends using the launcher.
You select the directory of the mod and when I hit play scenerio I get an error.

There doesn't seem to be a launch mod button or any obvious way to launch the mod.

Unable to load data file
"c:\space empires iv gold\fyronsquadrantmod\data\settings.txt"

Then it goes to load screen but only credits and quit game are availible.

I think we might�ve had the same problem. This happened to me just now when I was using the Quadront mod, but I fixed it by upgraded SE4 gold with the patch. After that it worked. Go to their official site and download the patch, then upload it to your game's folder and everything should work out fine. If not, then one of these veteran players might offer better answers.

Actually, I've discovered that SE4 itself sometimes, and the SE4 Launcher almost ALWAYS, has a hissy fit if I try to run it, and I have Eudora (my email client) running.

So I suggest turning off all nonessential applications, and THEN trying it.

If it then works, try it with each other application in turn, until you discover the cuplrit.

Then, never ever try to boot SE4Launcer with that application running.

I use Eudora on one of my mavhines and I'm sure I must have had it running with the mod launcher before.

It's too bad really that mod did look interesting to me,but the launcher is FUBARED.

The Launcher defenitly works with 1.78.

The problem sounds to me more like it could be something in the mod itself. What Version of the mod are using? And where did you get it from?
