Victory Conditions Problem...
Ok, this seems to be my day for being suprised by stuff with this game.
I just had a game end where the victory conditions were as follows:
First place player score 200% of second place player.
1.0 years of peace
10.0 years till victory conditions apply.
Normally I don't play using victory conditions, bu tI thought that ALL the victory conditions had to apply for the game to end.
But in this game the first place player had met the first conditions but there was still a war going on. We were past the 10 years elapsed time so I knew that one was met.
Apparently it's an either or thing not a both thing. This is correct? If so I didn't know it.

Re: Victory Conditions Problem...
All the conditions are "OR", rather than "AND"
Otherwise the "Conditions don't apply for X years" would be identical to the "Y years have elapsed" condition.

Was that the bolean logical "OR" and "AND" operators or the gramatical "or" and "and"?

I guess that proves that it's a love hate relationship we have with this game.

Re: Victory Conditions Problem...
actually, the 'dont apply for x years' is the only AND condition, while all the others are OR.

Ah, so!
I'm the lucky stiff that won that game. Like Geo, I fully expected to have to put out all the brush fire wars before claiming victory. All this assumes Geo didn't have an ace up his sleeve and was going to crush me when the right time came.

Oh most definetly I had a large fleet I was assebling and planning on sending your way. They were scheduled for departure in about 3 more turns. Not sure if they would have succeded or not, but it would have been fun.
I saw you were close to the 200% score but I was intentionally keeping another war going cause I mistakenly thought that was all I needed. Live and learn I guess. I never complain about second place.

Re: Victory Conditions Problem...
I think "Y years have elapsed" is also "and". I've had a solo game set to 15 years elapsed, 1 year of peace that did not end on 2415.0.

Yes, and grandpa was a little in luck that my ally: 1stcat bailed out just a couple of turns before the win.
