Re: Troubling Times: Large EA CBM Game (Started)
Thanks, I PM'd Corwin, let's see if he knows more.
In the meantime, I'll ask for a quick show of hands: If Executor has having internet trouble at his new place, I'd hate to have him stale because of this, but on the other hand there's no way to know if it'll be solved fast or not at all.
On the other hand since we're still on the first turn it might be easy to find a sub, or possibly even restart the game with a new C'tis player. (Though I am quite anxious to get this show on the road to be honest.)
Hosting is scheduled less than 3 hours from now, so one way or another I'll make a decision by then.

Tough call. I vote to postpone the host, give EX a little more time (although his last post was almost a week ago), and simultaneously see if we can find a sub.

Yeah, add 12h, post for a sub, with a note that it may be temporary [and give Executor 3-5 turns to show up]. Or even offer permament sub, if he does not like the pretender etc. Executor should have informed you about his potential problems, especially if he did it in the other game thread.

Re: Troubling Times: Large EA CBM Game (Started)
I've played more games with Executor than any other player, and know him well enough to say that bailing isn't his thing at all. So I'd say it's very likely that he's having trouble getting an internet connection at his new place. (since he did say on IRC that it might take him a few days to get setup there.)
I'm definitely not looking to sub-in here on a full time basis, but if there's no word from Executor in the next X hours (X being however long you want to delay it for him), then I can offer myself up for playing the first few turns until he comes back (as I'm very confident he will be back).
@ Amhazair - PM me, or find me on IRC if Executor doesn't show and you want me to play his turns. But bare in mind I'm on UK time, so if you delay 12 hours for Executor, I'll likely need another few hours to get setup. As for example, 12 hours from the current deadline is early hours of Saturday morning for me, and there's little chance me being up at that time on a Saturday unless I'm just getting in

I know you are always bare in my mind. But I could never bear to tell you before. Until now

Excellent timing Calahan, and it really helps out. PM sent. (Just as I had the entire "looking for sub" thread ready, but luckily just before I posted it. )

Re: Troubling Times: Large EA CBM Game (Started)
I wasn't expecting an introduction to the hassles of huge MP games for at least a few turns... Hopefully these will be minimal. ^_^ I foresee a lot of weekend pausing...

These things do happen from time to time, but I for one am still excited about an opportunity to face off against such worthy foes on a truly unique map. I'm sure it wil be worht the wait(s).

Re: Troubling Times: Large EA CBM Game (Started)
Just woke up folks, and no reply from Executor to the emails and PM's I sent him. (btw, "Hi Everyone", I'm subbing for Excutor / C'tis until he returns)
I've got a bit of a hangover from last nights activities, but I'll sort my head out, get the map and mods etc setup (I've got the turn file), and submit the missing C'tis turn so the game can get running properly, at some point soon.
Give me say two hours (noon my time) and I should have the first turn ready to roll. (main delay, if any, will be working out exactly what Executor was planning to recruit. But that shouldn't take me that long)
