Re: Players wanted for PvK\'s Proportions Game #1
OK, I received the emails with the approval to join, and the password, and a couple of nag notices for a turn that was due two days ago , but did not receive a turn file, or empire file. How do I get these?

Re: Players wanted for PvK\'s Proportions Game #1
I went to this game's page on PBW and found the button to download the current turn. This gave me a zip containing the .gam, .cmb, and .trn files, but did not give me the .emp file for my own empire - how do I get that? Or don't I need it, since the game is already in progress? (Aren't the design files for this empire stored in the .emp?)

You don't need the emp file for a game in progress. Emp files are used to create games (and can be used to carry designs from one game to the next), but emp files aren't used during play.

Re: Players wanted for PvK\'s Proportions Game #1
Looks like I have one more hurdle to get over before I can get into this game and do my turn. The password that was emailed to me doesn't work. When I put it in and try to enter the game, I get an Invalid Password message.
I set my Path.txt to the correct mod folder, start SEIV, click Load Game, click PVKPROP1, then it shows me the list of empires in the game, I select the Slu'vek, I type in the password down below, click Login - then get the message that the password is invalid.
Now what?

Hey PvK,
I'm all set; got the password and saved game files. Everything seems to be working now, and I'll have that turn submitted for you by tomorrow. Thanks!

If anyone picks up the Plague, and need a few pointers on where I left off, feel free to message me.

Re: Players wanted for PvK\'s Proportions Game #1
SpaceBadger, you are doing it correctly. Evidently, for some reason, not everyone gets the right password from PBW when they take over an empire. So I will email the previous player to request that he email you the password. If he doesn't do that before all of the other new players send in their turns, then I'll do it "the other way", which means you'll play the next turn instead, with a new password.
We're up to six players now - thanks for joining!
Vikings, Daitoon, People's Empire of Night, and Plague are still available.

Re: Players wanted for PvK\'s Proportions Game #1
That happens when a player does not enter the same password in the empire file and on PBW when uploading it, and also when the player changes their PW mid-game, but fails to update what PBW has stored for it.

Re: Players wanted for PvK\'s Proportions Game #1
I thought that would make PBW unable to process their turn... I guess the command line interface just requires player turn orders files, and not passwords (or, only the gamemaster password)? So, the PBW password is just for convenience?
