Re: SQUIDS IN SPACE!! ;-)
Just a minor proposal Deathstalker: Would it be possible to have a design name file with more squid associated names? I think in a zoological textbook there should be quite a number of squid species names e.g. The one you have now has names that you do not associate with squids or even marine animals.

Re: SQUIDS IN SPACE!! ;-)
Thank you Andres, this has truely made my day.
Q, I know that most of the names don't have much to do with 'squids' in general. I lost that thought track after Calamari, Kraken, and thats probally it. The one thing I have against SeIV is their design name files. Most of the names are so similar I have to backtrack and double check to see what ships I am facing. I figured, hey, their a warrior/enslaving race so these are some names they would name their 'steeds'. And hopefully they stand out and are remembered instead of being confused with 4 different ship types.(this was also a problem with the se4 original system names, didn't know where I was half the time ). But if you want more 'squid type' names, you are welcome to find some and post them for those who prefer it.(I'd probally mis-spell most of them anyway )

Sushi chefs of the world unite, lest you lose your brains...
One could probably add more fanciful names. 'Lord of the Depths', 'Tentacled Fury', 'Ten-fold Terror', 'Wrath of Neptune', 'Nemo's Bane', 'Crushing Grasp', 'Son of Scylla' and so forth.
No speech file? ("Eat beef, not squid!", "It's YOUR turn now... sushi!" Heh.)

I posted a collection of ship names files a while ago that included a list of 100+ marine creatures. You're never going to find enough squid specific names to make a reasonable list. Use names of fish, shellfish, etc., and you'll get enough.
The metaphoric names that other are posting ('Lord of the Depths' etc.) are properly included in a different list style. I've made quite an artform out of arranging name lists.

Yes I already used your marine file for the new neutral race of the Zishjash! And I try to use each design name file only for one race.
As for the number of squid names you might be wright if you only use cephalopodes, but I found about 30 families so if you go to the species names you might still have enough. However if you use the the mollusca then you will certainly have enough names: I found about 100. The only disadvantage is they really sound very scientific, which may not be everybody's taste. But if you like have a look at the smaller cephalopoda name file.
