I'm not going to make this hard, whatever we do in the game or code is well,
whatever we do in the game. And that's fine.
The process breaks down much more simply then you might expect and is no different then with any other conventional ammo. The difference lays within "
tools" used is all.
No difference: Simple
LRF and
FCS to target - done.
The difference: Less loader interaction required, shell is already equipped to be assigned detonation mission,
FCS sends data to the shell via the gun or breech once loaded.
In the case of this shell, in this thread, through wireless means.
I found a very simple breakdown of this in the ref. below, I found more technical ones however, I felt except for attaining more in depth knowledge, I didn't feel it worthwhile for this discussion. Simply a case of

You'll note "
our" airburst shell is the top picture used. I hope you also noticed those "
jaundiced" looking guys in the trench of that picture weren't wearing their helmets, what a
bunch of dummies!!!!
