Re: New Starfury Interview
I think there has been a misunderstanding! I'm sure that SE:V will remain turn-based as will tactical combat, the whole real-time issue was that the graphics would be drawn real-time and not pre-rendered as with SE:IV! I'm sure the fleet size issues are just with SE: Star Fury because of the limitations of real-time games. Do not worry!

Re: New Starfury Interview
Umm... isn't Aaron planning on making combat real-time for SE5? That is what I have heard he is planning, at any rate. Turn-based combat really sucks, after all. It has tons of inherent flaws.

Re: New Starfury Interview
Well, anybody that says they know what Se5 will have is pretty much talking out their arse, myself included. Malfador is working on Starfury right now, some of which may be used for SE5. But how much and which parts is not clear at all. He is considering options for Se5, and taking suggestions, but as far as anyone but him knows for sure, the first line of code is yet to be written for it. We really don't know what it's going to have. He may not even know yet.

Re: New Starfury Interview
I wonder if fighters will be in Starfury - it would be nice, but all those polygons zipping around sucking up frame rates would be kinda killer, unless these thigns had very low poly models.

The two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago.

Well, if the ships in Starfury are to scale, fighters would be small, and low polys would work for them.
I hope fighters are in Starfury, imagine one of your freighters is really a Q-ship with fighters and heavy weapons. Come 'n get me Pirates!
I also hope that storms, work like it did in Freespace 2.
