The "Fast" colony type yes, but with the Grav drive you loose some storage that comes with the engines un less my designs need tweeking

Actually, not You can select propulsion experts, add gravitic drives and colony ship will fly at speed 5 !

Also, there is a special research area "fast colony ships" if you are so desperate

Looks like the AI is breaking down in a couple of ways. One unrelated one is it seems not to be developing very well. I haven't tried to figure out why yet.

I think I see what is causing the DBZ error. The AI defending the planet has a bunch on infantry there... with no equipment. Empty infantry units. I don't know why the AI is doing this, but it is, and that, I think, must be causing the error.

Solutions, then, for the short term, would be to have some human player go run a turn for all the AI, jettison any empty infantry, and maybe set them straight on some other stuff if you want, especially giving them an inf design that uses weapons.

It'd be good to email MM too to let them know it crashes if there are troops with no components. I can probably make it so Proportions won't allow troops without components, but the AI has a way of ignoring design limits. Might work, though.

I don't know if it would be "Possible", JLS, because some have suggested the post may have been lost from the server, and I don't feel like looking. I don't think that post contained any more information than my recent Posts on the subject, which I think you have read.

If it is on the system, you should be able to find it with a search. Try searching the whole forum for Posts by me, with words "fighter" and "3.0" in them.
