Active Blockade doesn\'t work!
Well that's odd... I thought I specifically told my fleets not to glass any planets, but they just did... is something wrong with "Active Blockade" in the Ultimate Strategies Mod? The "don't fire on planets" flag is set...

Re: Active Blockade doesn\'t work!
by default, aren't all of the strategies in USM set so that all ships break formation? If so, didn't your ships just do what their design strategy is set to?

oh... that sucks...
So is there any point to assigning fleet strategies, then? I'd really like to tell some ships to blockade a planet while other ships halfway across the galaxy actually try to engage an enemy fleet...

Re: Active Blockade doesn\'t work!
There's only a point if you don't tell your ships to break formation. Which makes little sense, because breaking formation is almost always desireable. Actually, I think fleet formations *do* sometimes last even after the ships break formation. Think about the "capture planet" fleet order. Doesn't it still work as long as a troop transport with troops is there, even if the ships break formation??

Re: Active Blockade doesn\'t work!
Fleet strategy has nothing to do with troop ships. The fleet will stop firing on an unarmed planet until the troop transports have all had a chance to dump off troops. This happens when the fleet strategy is the default optimal range, even.

You can do that. Just change the Break Formation rules for the Active Blockade Stratagy. Or add an identical strategy that has all Break Formation options off. Use the second one for fleets.

They also will not resume firing on the planet until all friendly troops on the surface are dead.
