shipsets.
what do you guys use to make the 3d type shipsets?
I looked for some tutes but I could only find tutes for the find a picture then convert it type.
I wana make an invaider zim shipset
I have done some 3d modiling its the textures that get me, though with this I guess the textures dont have to be verry detailed.

Re: shipsets.
There already is a invader zim shipset, more or less. See Zero Adunns excellent rendition of my Vectorians, who are at least as far as style and looks go, very much like Zim.
I AM ZIM! how do I know that I AM ZIM!? because I am amazing. Like a ZIM!

Re: shipsets.
Who? What ship makers are you talking about. I think they mostly make them with paint and croyons.

Re: shipsets.
Yeah, ya stick the shapes together ike Legos, resize them if needed, add a texture, maybe lighting effects/transparency and voila a ship.
Render it and save as .bmp. Doga III render engine allows re-sizing too so you can make a shipset fairly easy.

Re: shipsets.
The problem I see with DogA is that all of the ship sets look alike. I have yet to see a really diversified looking set. Granted there are quite a few great looking ship sets out made with DogA, but just as many, if not twice as many, out that look like crap.
Those who have mastered the program, and I really don't know who you are, should tell the rest of us how you do it, or did it.

Atrocities makes VERY good shipsets, and he uses DoGA. Ask him for help.

Re: shipsets.
here is the massive, will use it as a dread.
not the greatest... but it should do.
I made it with magic, the modler which was built for starshatter, I think tesco posted about it (the game) a while ago...
magic is easy to use and pretty simple, it dosent have all those realy COOL fetures that you have to spend hours working out how to use that the more sifisticated ones have.

Re: shipsets.
I use a industrial program (Solidworks). I use it A LOT in everyday life (don't worry only for my work). It's not that hard to learn, but a little bit harder to get your hands on. I tried a little bit with lightwave, but it's a very different program compared to SW.
I don't know if these pics are up to date, but hese a sample of what I've done with the program.

Sorry for giving only the url, I don't know how to show the pics right away.
Edit: Crap, the link is dead due to the recent server change... my apologies.
