Satellites
Is it possible to launch cloaked satellites in a pbw game?? i don't have the time to test this myself so i ask here.
First, you deploy sats, then you cloak them, then you recover them with a transporter and are they still cloaked, when you relaunch them from the satbay?
thanks for the help, Dubrok

Re: Satellites
I've never tried it. You'll have to wait on someone else, I think.

Re: Satellites
ok, thank you.
would have been nice if you could have launched cloaked satellites in pbw games, because the enemy would not know that you deployed them, just like mines (unless they have scanners...)
now i need to do it in another way :-)

Re: Satellites
Sats that have stealth armour are automaticly cloaked when launched.
Thy enemy won't see them unless he has scanners.
It doesn't show from your point of view that they are cloaked, you can still engage and disengage cloaking, but that has no function.
Sats with stealth armour are cloaked, period.

Re: Satellites
so it is quite useless to put 100 sats at a warppoint if there is one with stealth armour??
they won't fire because they are all cloaked? good to know!
And even if i decloak them manually this doesn't work?

Re: Satellites
All you need is one visible ship or fighter to start the combat at the warppoint...
Once combat starts, all the cloaked sats will join in and pummel the enemy.
Of course, then they will know you have sats there and the cloaking will be somewhat useless

Re: Satellites
Do it anyway. Use both stealth and scattering armor for the 30% defense bonus!

Re: Satellites
I gather the 'automatically cloaked' does not apply to cloaking devices - only to stealth armor?

Re: Satellites
Stealth armor and cloaking devices use the exact same abilities, except that cloaking devices have 5 cloaking types instead of 2. So yes, it would apply to cloaking devices as well.
