Default Multiplayer TCP or IPX?

Hi,

I was wondering what the plan was for
tcp/ip or ipx multiplayer? I just ordered
the game, mostly for single player, but are
there plans for allowing multiplayer over
LAN or the internet?

Thx,
Scooterific

Can some one tell me the advantage of TCP play on ethis kind of game? Aside from doing tactical battles I don't think there is any other advatage in this kind of game. Where am I wrong?

The advantage of TCP over what? ipx or hot seat? Well if you have lots of time on your hands you can play over the net I think a lot of people think they want it now, but would get very bored actually playing a game like this over the net. Hot seat can be a lot of fun, cause you are there with your friends...and as memories of my MOO2 ipx days come back, I hope if MM adds ipx they do it a lot better

I would love to see TCP play for the challenge of a human opponent at a quicker rate than one turn a day on pbem! And for those of us who don't have the kind of friends that want to come over and play SEIV via hotseat. There are many people who would love to see TCP enacted and these are the same kind of people who would be willing to 'marathon' for a weekend. So maybe it would be boring to some of you, maybe you wouldn't want to play it. But allow those of us who do the opportunity to play and to seek answers as to when/if it will become available. I for one don't appreciate having the idea shot down, ridiculed, or questions about it dodged every time it comes up. Perhaps just a simple answer to questions about it would be in order!

I apologize in advance for this seeming rant but this is one thing, probably the only thing in this excellent forum, which really pisses me off!

Being bored at work, and feeling a little infantile, I will take up the chant, (picture in your mind John Belushi in Animal House saying Toga! Toga! Toga!).

We want TCP/IP multiplayer!
We want TCP/IP multiplayer!
We want TCP/IP multiplayer!
We want TCP/IP multiplayer!
We want TCP/IP multiplayer!

Please for give me, I usually have slightly more witty things to say, but I am suffering from long term sleep deprivation from staying up WAY too late for WAY too many consecutive nights playing just one more turn of SEIV.

Yeah, the advantage over pbem is faster
turns. And some of it can be simultaneous,
rather than a hotseat type of game (well, depending on the implementation of the game).
MOO II was great that way...played hundreds
of turns in a day...until the thing crawled
to a halt or crashed...

Even Call to Power II (not an outstanding
game, but ok) is fun over a LAN. A little
slow because movement is serialized, but
planning/improvements and all the rest
can be done in parallel.

So I guess the answer is, there's no stated
plans for tcp/ip? I couldn't find anything
on the site anywhere that mentioned it.
