Default Question on trampling

Hello.
I've been playing around with Arcos recently which led to some questions about trampling.
In short : what factors influence the chances of trampling enemy?
Trampler's strenght?
Trampler's attack score?
Relative sizes of both units (is size 6 elephant better than size 4 chariot vs humans)?
Do units defend vs trampling with defence score or is protection relevant in some way?
Looking forward to some answers.
Cheers.

Trampling always succed. Troops with high defence (not counting shields) can avoid damage, but takes at least one point (IIRC).

Trample dmg is size dependant (dmg=size*4 IIRC).

Dmg is AP.

High size difference allows several tramplings in one turn.

Strength and Attack is not relevant when trampling.

Trampling units rout through your own ranks.
