Shrapnel Shop is not accepting my credit card!!!!
Hello!
I wanted to buy game and support developers as they deserving this but Shrapnel Shop is not accepting my credit card - why, I don't know. I am buying books, games on Amazon.com without problem. I am located in Croatia and nothing is wrong with my credit card.
Now, I've contacted two times Shrapnel Games and they were helpful and kind but I can't buy the game so I need help here... It is really strange and I don't like it at all. I just wanted to let developers know that some people can't buy honestly game because lousy $#%#$%# Shrapnel Games Shop is not accepting my credit card. So who is here to blame?
Now, please answer me and please don't tell me that something is wrong with my credit card because I bought at least 30 books on World War II and History on Amazon.com so something is wrong with Shrapnel Games Shop.
And, Shrapnel Web is ONLY place where I can buy this game - I don't want to pay more on some UK based web who is importing game from US.
Looking forward to some feedback and to solve this situation. It would be ridicolous that I must send money - I will not buy the game if I cannot buy it Online.
Thanks. And great game!

Hello again. We still have your customer support request in our open files. I don't see that we received a response from you after our initial suggestions. We welcome you to return to customer support if you would like further assistance.

Re: Shrapnel Shop is not accepting my credit card!!!!
Dear Annete,
I will contact again customer support no problem, I am just little dissapointed because your web site is not accepting my Visa Classic credit card - with plenty of money on it to buy an PC game.
What you suggested to me in your reply is that my address that I provided on Shrapnel web site is different than in my bank account.
I am not an idiot and if I buy books, T-Shirts, games etc... with my Visa Online on Amazon and not just on Amazon and ALWAYS provide same address so it's not that. And I am not god damn terrorist or world wide gang organisation to be treated like this from your web site and to be rejected. It is really not nice that world wide customers are treated from your Web shop. That's my oppinion. Don't take this so seriously - but i think that problem is on your end, your software that cheks credit cards - because I am buying on Amazon.com all right many times and there is everything OK and on your site it isn't, I am rejected. It is just not fair - but I do think that software and web sites for e-commerce are DIFFERENT and that logically some are more advanced like Amazon.com and are welcoming EVERY customer!
I want this game because it is GREAT, so I will get back to you - but I want fair treatment to me as a customer - and not to be rejected by some bad software. This is just my logical conclusion - and if your software thinks that my credit card is not good because it is from Croatia, Europe or Mars and not from USA - or from UK - than it is problem with your software and trusting people. We are not all thiefs if we are from some exotic country that your software thinks that is full of thieves or some gangs that make fake credit cards etc... I agree many are thieves but why we honest people must be treated like this. And that is only reason that I posted here so developers can see how their publisher is treating "exotic" customers. If that is the way to deal with piracy then you are on wrong way - because I can buy a pirated game and I want ORIGINAL, MANUAL etc..., and I want to support Illwinter so that they can continue work on games like this.
Please just allow me to buy this game and find a way that I can do it. Or Illwinter must program your software for e-commerce as well as games ?
No hard feelings, but I am little bit angry because I cannot buy game because of your software not because my credit card is not valid or wrong - my credit card is good for buying hundreds of games - and I earned every cent with my work - which your sofware now mocking.
Best regards,
Mario

Mario,
No offense, but your being rather rude to the lady. Customer support wants to work with you to resolve the problem, so why come here to rant? We feel for you, we want you to have the game, but attacking the people who are trying to help you WHILE they're trying to help you just doesn't make any sense.

Re: Shrapnel Shop is not accepting my credit card!!!!
I apologize if I was rude. Sorry, OK!
Will check again with my bank tomorrow but I am 100% sure that if Amazon.com is working then it is strange why this is not working...
Hehe, but you didn't read obviously how Bill Stealey (ex MicroProse, ex Interactive Magic) once in EDGE magazine said that they will make money on their Air Warrior (or something like that, air simulation multiplayer) - when they figure out how to stop RUSSIANS to play using FAKE CREDIT CARDS. Russians play three days and then they caught them.
You got that?
Now, since Shrapnel is in Cary, NC like ex Interactive Magic - I wouldn't be suprised that whole Eastern Europe could have problems with buying Dominion 2 or maybe I am mistaken. All because those bloody Russian and others who are faking credit cards - curse them.
But, we are not all thieves - that was my point.
Again I am sorry if I used some harsh words. I will try to solve this somehow. Cannot buy via Chhips & Bits - they are asking outrageous amount for posstage as I recall. Well, what I can do, if I cannot buy the game - I will not buy it, I cannot go through the wall - will check (again) with my bank since maybe (maybe) is there a problem who knows... But, I doubt.

Re: Shrapnel Shop is not accepting my credit card!!!!
Update - i contacted my bank, and then Visa customer service and they told me that they rejected this transaction because they do not approve transactions with web shops that doesn't have required security protocols... It is really strange. Mind you, I don't think that Shrapnel Shop is unsecure but my bank think so (maybe rightly and maybe not) - but I cannot buy a game, unfortunately. There is nothing I can do about this. I've really wished to buy a game but it is not possible. Ahh, **** that.
(Annette you will not be angry if this is my reply also to customer service - anyway you are here so...).

Re: Shrapnel Shop is not accepting my credit card!!!!
I paid for my Dom II copy with my Visa Mastercard. No problem at all.
The problem is with your bank Mario. Tell your bank to f*cking cover your purchases as agreed by contract, or you will take your account to another bank that actually provides the service you are paying for. It's ridiculous that your bank is deciding what you can & cannot do with _your_ money.

Re: Shrapnel Shop is not accepting my credit card!!!!
I think that you are right Wendigo...
I was also thinking that *risk* of purchase is anyway on the customer not on damn bank so I don't know why they are making so much trouble.
I apologize again - I should have know that monkeys from the Balkans as ussual have making some stupidity.
Last year I bought Mansteins memoars "Lost Victories" in some obscure bookstore that have web shop and transaction went smoothly. I am not expert in banking and e-commerce but I think that these things must be standardized so that we customers buy what we whant, in this case computer game. I can send a cheque if this bank continue to make problems, I have account in another bank also but I'll try to raise hell there and see if some yelling on the phone will help

In North America, the risk is assumed by the Credit Card companies, but then I can't be sure sure how it works where you live.

Re: Shrapnel Shop is not accepting my credit card!!!!
OK, I've phoned my credit card company and they told me that I must write three numbers that are on the back of a credit card - beside visa number. But, on web site I tried to write those three numbers and it simply doesn't have space only for those digits on the front of Visa card -you cannot write any additional number. Now, I can go to some other bank and setup another account, I don't know. It will take some time...
