Oh, man! This is an almost totally no-contest answer, given your poll choices. You had to pit Misfortune against Death? On a question of gold? Death penalizes your gold income, both immediately and long-run as your entire dominion is reduced to smoking ruins as everyone dies to death. Misfortune can be greatly suppressed with Order anyway, which practically everyone takes.
