Immortal enemy heros changing sides

Twice now in single player i've had an immortal enemy hero be reborn in a new form. The first time i was playing as mictan and had forged a bunch of soul contracts to produce devils. One turn i was suprised to find a devil commander appear with the same name and magic as one of the tien chi heros, (air, water, astral, fire, and holy). The second time I was playing carrion woods. I killed etimuu the wraith lord in my domain, and that turn i got a carrion beast commander named etimuu who had death 3 and unholy 3 in my main reanimating provice. In the first instance, as far as i remember i wasn't the one who killed the hero, he must have died in some ai battle. In the second the unit did not appear inside my capital, instead in the province that iw as reaminating in. Anyone else seen this happen?

Yeah, the reincarnation bug is a known and acknowledged bug, but Illwinter is unable to locate what causes it or why it happens. Word has it that it dates as far back as Dom1. As a result, it remains one of Dom's greater mysteries.

Well, as far as mysteries go that is a pretty cool one.

I had a mercenary commander retreat from a battle and the next turn he was a permanent addition to my forces. No more payments for that guy!
