Perhaps instead of usying a "gem type" for rituals there could be a preparation ritual where in the same province the priests should do something similar the ^call god^ to cast a divine ritual ...
Well I'd glad to read a list of the things the Devs are doing for the next patch!

No doesnt look like anything in the holy magic department. Lots of stuff but not that.

Hmm, could you elaborate on this? Or are you under the oath of silence in that matter?

Hmm, could you elaborate on this? Or are you under the oath of silence in that matter? Yeah Im afraid its not my place to release any "list". And probably shouldnt have said that much. Saying its not in there is almost the same huh? Definetly Im not going to get into a game of "is this in it?"
It just caught me off gaurd. Struck me as odd that was even asked since there were so many older and more debated things still hanging. Im used to seeing demands for updates on subjects that the devs have already answered. This one came out of the blue.

Re: Can we expect a better Holy/Unholy Magic in next patch?
Althought I can definetly say what anyone could say if they looked at the patch historys.
1) The new patch will contain enough changes to amount to about 1-change a day (not a bad score for a guy not doing it full time).
2) And the changes will cover a wide range of different things (needed tweaks, user asked for items, dev fun items).
3) And nothing is likely to be in it which would have required a level of changes as to make 1 and 2 not true (nothing of a level that it would have been the only change that could get done)
That would probably answer alot of "is this even possibly going to be included" but as I said anyone can give that info just by looking at the patch historys.

Well at least you confirmed that new patch is somewhere on the horizont. It's a good thing to know, thank you.
Now if it would only contain some clams and VQ tweaks it would make me one happy camper.
P.S. BTW are there any perleminary talks about Dominion3? From what I've heard Dom2 is selling pretty well for indep game, correct? I've bought 4 copies myself btw, 1 for me and 3 as a presents.

Well, in that case....
Seems like it'd be nice if there were some additional holy spells, and also forged items that required holy / unholy magic.
Now - there isn't any holy / unholy gems in the game. But sacred items could perhaps always require a second path of magic; or they could require astral gems for the magical material component (as someone has mentioned that Astral, for some reason, equates to holy magic, not to mention the Grail and other holy magic items).
A second path of magic would possibly give some nations an advantage (Vanheim, Abysia, others with priestly mages), but it might also lead to ... empowered priests. Maybe some researchable pure priest spells - improved strength banish undead, holy flares from evocation, something akin to the old "Divine Armaments" from Dom1 under alteration or enchantment that makes troops weapons magic for the purpose of striking undead only.
Maybe a "Summon Divine Power" spell, that adds +1 to the sacred priest level. Or even better, simply increases the chances of priest magic penetrating MR.
And items - the Grail really ought to be a Holy item, and not Astral, imo; likewise some other artifacts that should maybe be based on holy or unholy priest magic, instead of on Astral or Death or whatnot - that way, almost any nation could aspire to having the Grail or other "sacred" artifacts, instead of it being de facto relegated to the handful of nations / themes best able to get Astral magic on national mages.
Then again - maybe all these ought to come under Water magic, since it needs a boost.

Ooh dont do that. A major Version means a major code re-write. I think Id rather see Dom2 continue awhile before shutting off the patches for a Version change. Especially if it makes all the maps, mods, help files that the Users have done completely worthless (which usually happens with a Version change). No no, too soon.
