Multiplayer game info

So I just ordered the game but am now still on the demo while waiting for the post. Can a multiplayer game be started using the demo of the game with other people that use the demo?

Also does anyone have a run down on how to set up a persistant server? This are probably questions that have been answered many times before.

Yes, you can play a Multiplayer game with the Demo. Though you are still limited to the 40 Turn Limit.

This is fairly simple but it depends on your connection and your OS. Maybe you could post that information and we could be of more help.

Win2k probably, but could be linux if it's all on the same CD for the game. Let's go with win2k for starters.
